Put Teamleader and Lumo next to your own process
In the demo we look at which parts of Teamleader you really use. If invoicing is the core, we will say so.
Teamleader combines CRM, quotes, projects, time tracking and invoicing for smaller businesses. Lumo combines sales, service and marketing in one database. They look alike and are not. Here is where the difference sits, theme by theme.

Teamleader is a Belgian package widely used in the Benelux by agencies, consultancies and installers. Its strength is the chain after the sale: a deal becomes a quote, the quote becomes a project, you log hours on the project, and the hours become an invoice. For a ten-person agency that wants everything in one package, that is a logical choice.
Lumo has a different core. The centre of gravity is the customer journey around the sale: bringing leads in, following them up in a pipeline, getting a quote signed, and then serving the customer well with a helpdesk, a customer portal and customer success. Time tracking and invoicing are not included. What is included, and less so in Teamleader: email campaigns with consent and workspace-wide unsubscribes, web forms with double opt-in, live chat on your website, and a helpdesk with SLA targets and a knowledge base.
In practice we often see a business outgrow the shape in which it chose Teamleader. A sales team joins that wants to steer on the pipeline. A support team joins that wants tickets. Marketing starts sending and needs to know who gave consent. Then tools start running next to Teamleader. That is the moment a comparison is worth it.
Sales Surge has done more than 150 CRM implementations, at agencies, service firms, wholesalers and installation companies. Below is the difference, theme by theme. And if invoicing is the reason Teamleader fits you so well, this comparison says so too.
Qualitative differences, no prices. Teamleader changes often, so always check the details yourself.

In Teamleader the pipeline is part of a broader package. In Lumo it is the core. You manage multiple pipelines, for example one for new customers and one for upsells. Every stage has a win probability and a limit in days after which a deal is marked as stalled. The board shows count, value and weighted value per stage. Leads come in through web forms or live chat, and move through New, Working, Nurturing, Qualified, Disqualified and Converted to deal. The Today screen shows every morning who needs follow-up.
Lumo syncs with Gmail and Google Calendar today. The Outlook and Microsoft 365 integration is planned. Only mail involving a known contact is stored, and it is attached to the right person, organization and deal. You send from your own Gmail with variables such as first name and organization. If you use Outlook, put the personal BCC address in Bcc or forward a mail to it, and it lands on the right records.
This is where the two are most alike. Both create quotes from the deal. Lumo adds e-signatures with a six-digit code sent by email. The customer types their name, ticks agree and can also decline. The signed PDF gets an evidence page with time, IP address, device and a SHA-256 hash, and a note is added to the deal. Teamleader then moves the quote on to a project and an invoice. Lumo stops at the signed quote. Read more about quotes and e-signatures.
Many agencies and service firms sell a mix of one-off work and a monthly retainer. In Lumo every product on the deal has a billing frequency: one-time, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually, with an optional number of cycles. The deal value is the sum of those lines, and a recurring line without cycles counts as one year.
The quote takes over the lines as a snapshot, with VAT, an intro text, terms and a valid-until date. The PDF carries your own logo and the customer's. Numbering runs per workspace and year, for example OFF-2026-0001. You send it from your own Gmail, with the PDF attached and a signing link.

Teamleader has tickets for customer questions. Lumo has a full helpdesk. Tickets come from a mailbox, the customer portal or chat, or are created by hand. There are first-response and resolution targets per priority, with business hours, holidays and a warning at 75 percent. Macros, internal notes, assignment across available agents and a satisfaction survey after solving are included. Customers sign in to the portal with a passwordless link, see their own tickets and find answers in the knowledge base.
This is where the gap is large. In Lumo campaigns are part of the product: a four-step wizard, segments from your filters with a live preview of who is excluded and why, HTML templates, a test send and a follow-up. Explicit consent is required by default and is checked again at the moment of sending. An unsubscribe applies to the whole workspace. Forms support multiple steps, conditions and hidden fields filled from a UTM value.
Teamleader is strong at overviews across sales, projects and invoices. Lumo has a report builder for the commercial side: deals, leads, activities, organizations and lost reasons, with nine chart types, goal lines, drill-down and CSV export. Revenue from invoices is not in it, because Lumo does not invoice.
After the sale, Teamleader follows the project, the hours and the invoice. Lumo follows the customer. The Customer success module holds delivery projects with a phase, progress, go-live date, milestones, a next step, internal notes and blockers. The overview shows what needs attention, what goes live soon and how healthy your customers are.
The health score runs from 0 to 100 per organization and is based on ticket signals over 90 days. An account manager preparing a renewal call can see whether the customer had a lot of questions lately. What you should know: time tracking and capacity planning are not included.

The Lumo AI assistant searches, creates and updates records, and builds segments, campaigns, automations and reports. Anything outward-facing or irreversible waits for your approval. It runs with your role, is off per workspace until an admin switches it on, and runs on Google Gemini by default. Every tool call is logged.
Lumo has its own login with two-factor authentication, four roles from owner to viewer, separation per workspace and an append-only audit log. For GDPR you export or erase everything about a person. Data is hosted in London, in the United Kingdom. There is no SSO.
There is no automatic import from Teamleader. Sales Surge moves your contacts, companies and deals by hand and sets up pipelines, fields and roles. Invoicing and time tracking stay in your accounting package or another tool. Read how we approach implementation and onboarding.
Teamleader does a few things Lumo deliberately does not.
If billing hours is the core of your administration, Teamleader suits that well.
If three or more of these sound familiar, a demo is worth your time.
There is no automatic import from Teamleader. Sales Surge handles the switch by hand.
In a demo we look at which parts of Teamleader you use, and which of them move to Lumo.

Lumo does not create invoices and has no time tracking. Keep those in your accounting package and use Lumo for sales, service and marketing. Quote documents and the signing page are in Dutch. If you work in Outlook, use the BCC address until the Outlook and Microsoft 365 integration is there. Data is hosted in London.
